UWC Connect is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy when you access and use our services. These guidelines state how we use, collect, transfer and disclose your data.

These privacy guidelines also state how UWC Connect uses personal data provided to UWC Connet in other ways such as via telephone, e-mail or other correspondence.

We strongly recommend that you review these before submitting your information. UWC Connect takes no responsibility for their guidelines and the privacy practices practiced on third-party websites.
Who collects information
UWC Connect is a limited company registered in Norway under organization number 913125746 with registered counter address Hauglandsvegen 304, 6968 Flekke, Norway. UWC Connect is a commercial business linked to offering hotel accommodation, catering and other activities based on the Red Cross Foundation Nordic United World College (UWC RKN)’s operations and in line with the operations and strategic plan for UWC RKN. The business must be financially self-sustaining and generate a profit that can develop the company and form the basis for share dividends.
Information we collect
UWC Connect can collect and process information about you, such as:
- Details about your searches on the website to get information about what the user is looking at in order to provide customized marketing and to reveal which functions on the website are most used
- Information that you provide when filling in a form on the website in order to get back to the user with tailored offers
- For bookings: name, email address, phone number, allergies & guest names
If you contact us, regardless of the reason and channel, Connect can keep the documentation for that correspondence for future offers and internal learning.
How we use your information
UWC Connect can use the information about you in the following ways:
- To present content and information on UWC Connect’s website in a way that suits you, as well as equipment and units from which you use the website
- To provide you with information or services that you have requested from UWC Connect or that UWC Connect believes may interest you, if you have consented to being contacted for such purposes
- To carry out customer surveys and market research to improve our products and services, or
- To contact you from time to time about emergencies in connection with your use of the website and/or Connect’s services, including, but not limited to, notification of changes to the website’s services and the basis on which they are provided
UWC Connect will not give third parties access to information about users on the website.
How we store your information
UWC Connect will store and process your information within the EEA. Although UWC Connect aims to protect personal information when it is received by you, the transmission of information to or from us over the internet is not completely secure and by sending information over the internet you do so at your own risk. For the avoidance of doubt, UWC Connect accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage you may suffer as a result of such transfers.
Updating your information
If you send information to UWC Connect, you must make sure that such information is correct, and notify us if the information changes so that we have not registered incorrect information about you.
Disclosure of your information
UWC Connect will store your personal data in UWC Connect’s systems, visible only to employees at UWC Connect, unless disclosure is required or permitted by law.
We will not normally disclose your personal data outside of UWC Connect, but from time to time UWC Connect may disclose personal data with adequate security mechanisms under the following circumstances:
- About UWC Connect engages subcontractors for service delivery that require your information to safeguard your security
- Information regarding severe food allergies and special precautions in relation to health situations
(Normal routine is to hand over information on an aggregated level, except in some cases, we provide information on an individual level after assessment of the situation and consent with the user)
When we contact UWC Connect for marketing purposes
UWC Connect will inform you (when collecting information) if UWC Connect wishes to use your data for marketing purposes, but we will only do this if you consent to such use of personal data. You can exercise your right to prevent such use when UWC Connect collects your information, by indicating that you do not wish to be contacted for marketing purposes.
You can also contact UWC Connect at connect@uwcrcn.no if you change your mind at a later time.
How long will UWC Connect retain your information
UWC Connect will retain your information as long as it is necessary for the relevant activity for which the information was submitted.
On an individual level, when the visit is organized by an organisation, for example the Red Cross or students on a clay school stay, information will be stored for payment for the stay received.
Information provided via the online form is retained and used for a period of 6 months before it is deleted.
Your rights
In accordance with the Personal Protection Ordinance, you have the right to request details of what kind of information is stored about you, and in certain circumstances request the deletion of personal data or that we cease processing your personal data. If you request access to information we hold about you, UWC Connect will process such requests in accordance with the Personal Protection Ordinance, as amended, varied or supplemented at any time. To ensure that such requests are genuine and that we do not disclose personal data to anyone other than the data subject, we ask that you submit two forms of identification when you send the request (this can be a passport or driver’s license)
Cookies
UWC Connect uses cookies on its website. We use cookies to customize content and ads, offer social media features and to analyze our traffic. With cookies, we can share information about your use of the website with our partners within social media, advertising and analysis.
Cookies are small data files that contain unique identifiers that are sent to your computer, mobile or tablet. They are used to store or retrieve information about you and your unit, usually to give you a personal experience on the internet.
When using bookings.uwcconnect.com, our booking system VisBook uses cookies to identify you in the system. While making payment, our payment provider Nets uses cookies to complete the payment. Both of these system use necessary cookies for the user to complete thier booking.

Website Analytics
UWC Connect’s website uses Matomo for analytics.
We do not use cookies for purposes of analytics and all IP Addresses are anonymised, we do not create a user profile and we do not track you across mutiple days or websites. We use Matomo cloud as our host, this means your data stays in the EU, in servers located in Germany and Ireland. We also respect users wishes to enbable “Do Not Track” in the browser and will not track users with this option enabled.

UWC Connect may change these guidelines from time to time, and will indicate this on this page or elsewhere on the website. You are expected to check this page from time to time to familiarize yourself with the changes we have made, as these are binding on you.
